Acupuncture is a holistic health technique that stems from Traditional Chinese Medicine practices in which trained practitioners stimulate specific points on the body by inserting thin needles into the skin.

Today acupuncture is one of the most popular practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the West. TCM is a complimentary health approach that first originated in ancient China more than 2,500 years ago and has been evolving ever since.

To treat a wide variety of diseases, pain and stress-related symptoms, practitioners of TCM use holistic techniques that include acupuncture, herbal medicines, tai chi, qi gong, massage therapy, and various “mind and body practices.”

We are proud to have acupuncture as part of our Interactive Healing Experience.

Contemporary Cupping           cupping

The history of cupping has been reported being in existence around the world for thousands of years. The negative pressure massage uses oil and silicone cups to lift the connective tissues, bringing blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles. This action engages the parasympathetic nervous system to provide a deep relaxation to move through the entire body. For greater results, cupping may be combined with other modalities such as Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Massage, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy or Reflexology.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Dating back as far as 970 AD, facial acupuncture treatments have long been used in China as a way to counteract and even stave off the effects of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. The insertion of hair-thin needles into specific points on the face stimulates the production of collagen and increases circulation to the area, resulting in smoother, firmer skin with improved color and luster. Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is seen as a safer, painless alternative to surgical procedures and injections that produce similar results. In a recent study of 300 people, the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture found that 90% of participants perceived a marked decrease in facial wrinkles after just one treatment, their skin feeling firmer to the touch, with improved elasticity.

Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the principal that health is manifested from the inside out, so with each session, synergistic acupuncture points are used on the arms, legs, head, and torso to further strengthen the bodys energy and provide a complete holistic treatment. A typical series of 10 to 12 appointments can:

» Erase fine lines and diminish deeper wrinkles

» Lift sagging eyelids and reduce bags/circles under the eyes

» Firm jowls and minimize the appearance of a double chin

» Improve muscle tone and increase collagen production

» Eliminate puffiness by improving metabolism and reducing excess fluid

» Improve hormonal balance, thereby decreasing acne flair-ups

» Increase circulation of blood and lymph to the face: improving facial color and luster

» Moisturize the skin and tighten pores

» Significantly reduce the appearance of scars and age spots

» Reduce stress as it is manifested in the face

» Slow the aging process from within

» Promote overall health and well-being
